In this "Korea Special", I interview two long-term resident South Koreans who have called Vietnam home for more than 14 years. They provide a snapshot into the topsy-turvy life of Koreans here, specifically in “K-Town” aka Phú Mỹ Hưng in District 7 where the vast majority of Koreans live in Saigon. What challenges do they face post-pandemic and are the halcyon days of their neighbourhood long over? I also take a peek at the bride trade to Korea which traditionally has been lopsided in favour of Korean males, but a change in Korean divorce law in 2019 has brought about some interesting changes that are beginning to turn things on their head in favour of Vietnamese ladies! To wrap up, I reveal the best Korean restaurants in Saigon as voted by Bureau Followers on social media. I look forward to hearing what you think in the comments section!
